Bang, you're dead--part two

I mentioned that for my survey I would be sending some questions which I earnestly hope some of you will answer. Here goes:

ONE: You are gridlocked on a superhighway after work some Summer day. All around are fatigued, irritated drivers anxious to get home. Would it make you feel safer to know that every driver is, or is permitted to carry a loaded firearm?

TWO: You are looking over some colleges for your son who will attend in the Fall. In one college you find that the young people who are not yet mature
enough to have learned anger management and who are prone to disputes about such things as turf, girls, parking spots, etc. are permitted to carry
loaded firearms in school. Would this encourage you to enroll your child there?

THREE: While attending a church service a deranged man, carrying an expanded magazine automatic pistol, invades the church and starts shooting the congregants. One of them is armed and shoots and kills the intruder. Did the fact that some of the audience were carrying a loaded firearm save lives?

FOUR: Police authorities are reporting that criminals are changing tactics
in person on person crime. Because more people are armed for self defense,
attackers are now shooting the victim first, and stealing his weapon.
Does this sound true, or is it propaganda?

FIVE: Weapons for self defense against burglars or home invaders must be kept
in an accessible place to be of use in an emergency. If a child finds the weapon, which is fascinating to children, and someone ends up shot or dead, should the
parent be in an way sanctioned?

Sorry, friend, but I am not clear about your expected responses.

Am I in favor of guns rather than intellect? No! Societal intellect should always be our objective.

Do I believe fire power has a place in our emerging culture, No, because fire power is contrary to evolutionary norms.

Do I believe armament is the solution for otherwise or seemingly unmanageable conditions? No, cultural needs must always take precedence. Armament is nothing more than a way to "short circuit" nominally feasible solutions.

Now, to your specific questions...

ONE: ... every driver is ... permitted to carry a loaded firearm...
Of course not. Nobody needs to rely on a firearm to make a point.

TWO: ... young people ... are permitted to carry
loaded firearms in school. Would this encourage you to enroll your child there?
No way! Such a school would be completely unacceptable.

THREE: ... Did the fact that some of the audience were carrying a loaded firearm save lives?
No. Any loss of life due to the use of firearms is inexcusable regardless of the situation.

FOUR: ... attackers are now shooting the victim first, and stealing his weapon...
True in some communities and propaganda elsewhere. All of us must remember that "cops" are also renegades in many communities. The real truth in many situations is lost on the bias and honesty of police authority.

FIVE: parental accountability -
Maybe. Every parent has always been completely accountable for the acts of their children. That's the way society evolves and there is no reason to change from that standard any time in the future. Even when a minor child commits an onerous offense against society a responsible parent will absorb the blame and ask the court for leniency to bring the situation back into parental discipline conditions. No parent would ever want an immature child to endure more punishment than that child could handle. On the other hand, a mature child (18+) should be presented with nothing less than the full obligation of his/her age and the parent should not feel obligated to intervene or absorb any of the blame.

Max,

Please expand on your answers.

It appears you hate kids even more than violence. Is that true?

I beg you to reconsider in full recognition of the fact that kids today will be OUR caretakers in only a few more years.

American youth do not mature suitably but that fault is our's, their parents. We have permitted our youth every convenience (and excuse) but what will guide their thinking as they approach "middle age"? Their's is perhaps the most daunting reality in history. What could possibly encourage them to think and act more responsibly. If the most constructive acts we have shown them is nothing more than distrust how can we ever expect them to rise above that?

Please, provide more insight! Perhaps all of us can benefit from what you have to say.

. Kids belong to sheep. Children are our future. Violence has existed since man walked on two legs. Violence protection (police, judicial system marshals , army, personal safety) requires weapons at times.
