WITH APOLOGIES TO BEN FRANKLIN:
How blessed are they who have received much from this country, when they give back
some that won't be missed so that those who have little will not end up with nothing.
Conservatives will call that socialist redistribution of wealth. What would Jesus
call it?

According to Hebrew records "Jesus" discounted Roman currency and the value of money. Hebrew speaking people rarely acknowledged Jesus as anything more than a prophet yet all their ancient text clearly indicates a decisive opinion that that person was endowed with ecumenical incite never before available to anyone.
The Hebrews loved "Jesus" even though he seemed to challenge all traditional values. "Jesus" as we have come to know that person was not a profit or a rabbi but his well-documented acts clearly indicate an overt attempt to correct many ethnic misunderstandings in many cultures.
It is somewhat ironic that "Jews" today are more accepting of guidance provided by this "Jesus" than any of the many gentile cultures today and in the past.
To answer your question; Jesus would probably have said the same thing as is quoted in the Greek interpretation of Hebrew text; "Give to Caesar what is Caesars".
For us, however, the story is somewhat different. We have no choice other than observing the power of the almighty dollar. We have no other choice these days.
There are no ideological leaders left in our culture; only want-to-bes who are completely incompetent but willing to keep the wheels of dialog spinning.
Regardless of our religious affiliation, we must all closely examine our affiliation with "just cause" - the root of democratic rule.
If we prefer to be "free" and capable of modifying current political scenarios we must first recognize that each of us must be an intelligent contributor to the agenda we seek to implement.
Democrats and Republicans cannot accomplish such an agenda for us because those participants were literally purchased by our votes or contributions to their respective organizations. The one, most effective contribution is actual opinion voiced on a national forum.
Sarah Palin clearly demonstrated this power a few months ago and is now enhancing her power by stepping outside of the traditional political structure to demonstrate the incredible power of the digital media. 80-year-old politicos cannot resolve this new perspective because they are outsiders to the social norms. We must use every possible opportunity to get out the word - things have changed and we are ready to make those changes, also.
